  • Anyone taking part in a Society event must have taken out membership of The Vikings to be covered by our insurance policy. Allowing a non-member to participate without taking out membership is a breach of Society rules.

The Society membership year runs from 1st January to 31st December. Members must renew before taking part in any event in the New Year.

The 2025 costs of subscriptions are


Adult Membership) £23 (£18 for on-time renewals and first time members)
Junior Membership 50p
Youth Membership £10
Companion Membership £5
International Membership £10


Early renewals (before December 31st) will be charged at the discounted membership rate of £18.00 for adults. Payments after 31 December will pay at the full rate of £23. The cost of Youth and Junior membership will remain the same. All cheques made payable to “The Vikings”. Anyone who joined the Society on or since (for example) 1st September 2024, already has membership through to 31st December 2025 and does not need to renew.

Payments can also be made by direct transfer, please contact the Society Treasurer (treasurer[at]vikingsonline.org.uk) or Julie for details. When making the transfer please include your name and group as a reference. Both the Membership Officer and Treasurer need to be informed by email that payment has been made in this way, and given a list of the members the payment applies to.
