Dunholm

Dunholm, based primarily in and around County Durham , was founded in 1990. Since 1991 the group has been led by Rachel Lowerson.

From the outset our members have enjoyed both living history and combat, with regular training sessions for the latter twice a month on Sunday evening at an accessible indoor venue on the outskirts of Durham City. These also provide an opportunity for our non combatants to catch up, chat and share craft hints and tips.

We're a friendly group with people from all walks of life, where everyone helps out to the best of their abilities, and learns from each other. On the living history front, skills that various group members have developed over the years include textile crafts, wood and bone work, basketry, metal work, netmaking and leather work - to name but a few. We've found that part of the fun of reenactment is trying your hand at things and seeing how they work out.
