Noreen was the wife of Gerry East, who ran the society from 1973 to 1982. During that time, Noreen was the secretary and membership officer of the society, keeping the membership records and issuing membership cards, and generally keeping everyone (including Gerry) in line. When Gerry stepped down in 1982, both he and Noreen were made life members of the society in recognition of their service. Both made occasional appearances during the 1980s, including at the Dublin Millennium event in Dun Laoghaire in 1988.
