In Memoriam Terry Warren
Terry Warren – 2026
Groups: London Battle Group, Gesithas, Provincial

Terry joined the NFPS in 1975, and served as the society's Membership Officer for several years under Gerry East, standing down when Geoff Carter took over from Gerry in 1982. Terry remained an active member into the 2010s, and with his wife Gillian was instrumental in developing crafts and living history within the society in the late 80s and early 90s. Softly spoken, he was never the outgoing and aggressive type that roamed the battlefields, but he was an occasional combatant and maintained his combat qualification into the 2000s.

Having been a Provincial member for a number of years, Terry found new enthusiasm when he joined Gesithas in 2015 and could frequently be found in clerical robes playing a priest or bishop when he wasn't practicing his own craft skills. Having got involved with acting within the society in the early 00s, he was at his happiest when gently chiding military leaders for their excess of violence, while demanding that they smight their heathen opponents with his next breath.

He established an award for outstanding portrayal of clerical or medical characters within our displays in memory of Gillian, who died in 2007.
Terry was awarded the newly-introduced Silver Drengr in 2024, ostensibly to mark 25 years since he was promoted to Drengr (Freeman in his time) but of course by then it had been at least 45 years. In total, he was a society member for 51 years.
