Jewellers' Guild

The Jewellers' guild is open to anyone in The Vikings with an interest in Early Medieval jewellery (including decorative items such as belt fittings, and non-metal jewellery such as glass or gemstone beads).

The Jewellers' guild members could be anyone interested in Early Medieval jewellery, including the following:

• Makers of jewellery, and jewellery components
• Traders or other buyers interested in buying or commissioning jewellery or components
• Authenticity experts, interested in helping ensure jewellery is correct for our period
• People who like shiny things!

Jewellers' Guild members can use the forum for discussions about early medieval jewellery, for example the following topics:

1. Discussing early medieval jewellery: original finds, replicas and jewellery in early medieval styles.
2. Exchanging information on both authentic and inauthentic methods of making early medieval jewellery.
3. Sharing ideas on safely and authentically displaying jewellery and jewellery making at reenactment events.
4. Discussing makers' problems and looking for solutions.

The guild is mainly online discussion, but members can get together for example at shows, or training weekends.
