Jormungandr are the oldest York based regional branch of "The Vikings", formed around 2001. We are a mixed Saxon and Viking group.

We have a good variety of Living History props and exhibit many different crafts as well as taking part in the combat displays. We have recently gained promotion to 'Herred' status, which is an accolade to how keen we all are to "get it right".

We are based in York, but have members from as far afield as Scarborough, Skipton, Sheffield, Rotherham and Scunthorpe. Our members range in age from 17 to 60+,.a truly diverse and friendly group who try and offer a tailored reenactment experience to each and every member.

The group has a very relaxed attitude on the surface but hidden is the fact we are all keen students of the Viking/Saxon way of life. We meet at the Breighton Ferry Inn, Breighton near Selby. Once a month (shows permitting)
