CAENT VIKINGS.
Caent Herred are a group based in Canterbury,Kent. We reenact life from 6th Century Saxon /Viking to 11th Century Saxon/ Norman. Formed in 1997 with just 2 adult and 1 junior member it now boasts over 30 members. Caent is a family orientated group,with a strong compliment of Archers,Combat Warriors,and a large lively living history encampment.
As a group we usually portray life as Kentish Saxons but do participate in shows as Vikings and Normans. Caent has a strong commitment to educating the public on Saxon and Viking life. To this end we have a committed team of school visitors led by Christine Green. They visit schools to display and show early medieval life, crafts and weapons.
