Venues

When booking campsites for any Society event, the needs of as many Society members as possible should be taken into account. These include, but are not limited to, small children, mobility impaired, pet owners etc. We are always looking for venues for private events such as Society Training Weekends, The Vaetfang and Banquets, so please contact us (admin[at]vikingsonline.org.uk) if you know of anywhere which can tick most of these boxes:

For Training Weekends and Vaetfangs

• At least one large, indoor hall for Craft training/ evening gatherings
• More one one additional smaller hall for acting, admin, speakers, traders, assorted meetings...
• Large open piece of ground for formal training
• Wooded area for warriors to play in
• Parking for >100 cars also room for camper vans, caravans
• Plastic camping
• Indoor camping
• Toilet and washing facilities (can be supplemented with portaloos, if necessary)
• A bar and/or food outlet (these can be contracted in, if necessary)
• Child friendly
• Dog friendly

For Banquets/Jarls Meetings

• At least one large, indoor hall for the banquet with adequate kitchen
• Preferably an additional smaller hall for the Jarls Meeting
• Parking for >100 cars also room for camper vans, caravans
• Plastic camping
• Indoor camping
• A bar (nice to have, but if not, then no ban on alcohol)
